The Children’s Book Committee at Bank Street College of Education named Penguin Chick a “Best Children’s Book of the Year 2003”.
(Best science book for ages 5 to 7)
 

 

National Science Teachers Association  -  “Outstanding Science Trade Book of 2003” (on NSTA list of “award winning” books).

 
 

The National Science Teachers Association and the Children’s Book Council selected Penguin Chick to be in the national traveling exhibition “Children’s Science Book Fair 2003” (one of 15 “outstanding Life Science books for children K – 12”).  The exhibit was sponsored by the Association of Science and Technology Centers.

 

 

“Children’s Literature Choice List of award winning books of 2003” (chosen by educators, librarians and psychologists, who reviewed 3,000 selected books and chose 150 top choices).
 

 

Gov. McGreevey’s Book Club - “Book of the Month” for first grade students for February 2003.
 

 

Early Trumpet Book Club – "Editor’s Pick" 2003.
   

Penguin Chick is a selection in "Scholastic Book Clubs and Book Fairs" and it was a main selection in the "Children’s Book of the Month Club".
 

 

Scott Foresman published Penguin Chick in "Reading Street" a reading textbook for third grade students in 2005.

 
  In 2007 McMillan/McGraw-Hill will publish PENGUIN CHICK as a Big Book for teachers with an edition for students, audio anthology and CD Rom in a reading program for third grade students.
